Success after the Limelight From Winning on the Playing Field to Winning in Business

“What you are as a person is far more important that what you are as a basketball player." -- John Wooden

We’ve all heard the story: A great athlete, on retiring, reflects back on how they achieved their success.  “I owe it to my coaches,” the star says. “They pushed and inspired me to be my best.”

But what happens when the athletic career ends?  Who can the athlete turn to for motivation and guidance to become a star in business?

The answer is the same.  They need the right coach.

Professional Coaching is about inspiration, drive and achievement.  These are some of the attributes:

  • Facilitates client’s plan development
  • Provides a support system for the client’s personal and business success
  • Provides a great support structure for problem resolution
  • Provides clients with an objective sounding board-straight talk
  • Hold client accountable with a “light hand”
  • Provides a framework to plan big and make it happen

Even though business and sports are different animals, the drive for success is the same.  Our work focuses on coaching and inspiring athletes who are looking to achieve success off the field.

When working with athletes, we pair our broad corporate and business experience with their instincts for competitive excellence into a powerful and winning combination.  The people we work with are inspired to tap what they’ve learned while competing in sports and apply it to the competitive world of business.

Professional coaching is for people who are seriously committed to investing the time, self discipline and energy it takes to better oneself.

This is about developing a strong forward focus.  Our clients are challenged to establish their own goals and to make commitments for breathing life into those goals.   Commitment and accountability are key.   Working together, we will concentrate on identifying each person’s desired growth, skills and individual strengths while channeling them into a forward-focused plan.

We appreciate the athlete’s lifelong drive to win.  We admire their discipline for physical fitness, mental toughness, resiliency and drive for continuous improvement.  We identify with their sometimes abrupt need to change course or find a new path. Our goal is to work with them to shift gears successfully, and parlay their success from the playing field to the board room.

“Believe me, the reward is not so great without the struggle." -- Wilma Rudolph
