Executive coach Karen S. Goins works with leaders to expand their ability to produce results. A former Fortune 500 executive, Karen’s firm, KS Goins & Associates LLC, specializes in developing emerging and middle management talent through coaching and proprietary training programs. She is also a seasoned public speaker and meeting facilitator.

Karen’s background includes 23 years in corporate America and community service, and expertise in human resources, diversity, purchasing, product development, quality and manufacturing.  As Director of Human Resources at International Truck and Engine, Karen designed and led the firm’s global HR programs and developed and launched a multimillion-dollar human resources transformation project. She also served the firm as Purchasing Product Development Director, responsible for delivering multiple heavy truck programs, while leading a department of 68. As Director of Diversity, she was responsible for developing a company-wide diversity strategy that included developing new truck dealerships. The highly successful diversity program she co-created is still used by the firm and has trained 9,000 people over ten years. 

Karen has presented to thousands of individuals in small and large group settings. She speaks on diversity, talent development, networking and having difficult conversations. She has developed training programs on valuing differences, working effectively as a team, and developing leadership practices. Karen serves on the Corporate Advisory Board for the University of Michigan College of Engineering and has been a board member for the Urban League and the Center for Non Violence in Fort Wayne Indiana. She is a member of WIIS- Women in International Security based in Washington, D.C. and is a former mentor for the Black MBA Leadership of Tomorrow, based in Chicago.

Karen is a certified coach and has been awarded the Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) designation.  Karen earned a bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Masters of Science and Administration from Central Michigan University. KS Goins & Associates is located in Plainfield, Illinois.
